Martin Lücke

Martin Lücke has been a professor of History Education at Freie Universität Berlin since 2010. He studied History, German and Pedagogy at the University of Bielefeld, where he received his state examination in 2002. In his doctoral thesis, which was completed in 2007, he studied the history of male prostitution in modern Germany. He has worked as a research associate of History Education at the University of Leipzig (2007-2008), and as a teacher for History and German in Berlin secondary schools. He has also been one of the initiators of the Berlin 'Queer History Month'. His current research deals with the history of the German homosexual movement and with theoretical questions on history education (e.g. inclusion and diversity in education, teaching the history of the Shoah in a diverse society).
